Preview for sporty new Seat

Preview for sporty new Seat

A first glimpse has been given of a sporty three-door Seat car set to arrive in UK showrooms.

The Ibiza sports coupe supermini has a more svelte shape than its five-door sibling, and is tailored towards drivers keen to mix fun and functionality with what the firm says is a "head-turning" design.

Releasing preview snaps of the vehicle, Seat also said the model is 17 mm lower than the five-door and is meant to show "sporting intentions".

Seat head of marketing Steve Robertson said: "Traditionally, a significant part of our business has been built on the success of three-door Ibiza, so the unveiling of this stunning new sport coupe is a key moment for us."

Seat hopes the new model will attract fans of the marque after a more aggressive-looking car, with some purchasers expected to opt for sports car insurance to cover their new vehicle.

The new model also has a different interpretation of designer Luc Donckerwolke's arrow-like concept, with lowered headlights and a repositioned radiator grille.

Seat also produces the Leon, Altea and Toledo car models.ADNFCR-1036-ID-18626476-ADNFCR
